Grilled Chicken Wings

Here's a new recipe we tried today and they were SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!!!

Ingredients:
4 Tablespoons granulated garlic
2 teaspoons red pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 pound chicken wings
1 1/2 cups Hidden Valley Original Ranch Dressing
2 cups KC Masterpiece Original BBQ sauce (optional)

Directions:
Light grill. Mix garlic, red pepper and salt: rub onto wings. Pour ranch dressing into large plastic ziploc bag; add wings. Shake bag to coat wings.

Remove wings from bag; place on aluminum foil, fold into cooking pockets and seal tightly (I put 5-6 wings in each foil packet). Place pockets on main grill rack for about an hour and a half. Remove wings from pockets and finish directly on grill over moderate flame (they are really tender -- so be careful of meat falling off the bone -- I think I might get one of those grill baskets for this part). Turn every two minutes until wings develop a crust. Baste wings with KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce (we forgot to do this -- but they were great without it -- so that's why I put optional). Serve warm -- VERY GOOD!!

Baby Shower Cake

I thought I would start putting all the pictures of cakes I decorate on my blog. I'm really getting back into cake decorating. I used to do it when I still lived at home -- I would make birthday cakes for my sisters, etc.
I really enjoy it and now that I only work part-time,
I have more time for it again. So, here's one I made
today for a baby shower we have at church tonight!

What is wrong with people today?

I just don't understand so called "Christians" today. Here is a news clip of someone in the Christian community that has lost all respect from me -- I just cannot believe this!! How can you call yourself a Christian (a follower of Christ) and not believe EVERY SINGLE THING the Bible (God's word) teaches? This is quite disturbing to me -- I like several of Ray Bolt's songs but I will definitely think differently about his music now. Here's the article:

There is shock and sadness in the Christian community over word that famed Christian music singer Ray Boltz has publicly announced he’s living a homosexual lifestyle.
"If this is the way God made me, then this is the way I’m going to live...I really feel closer to God because I no longer hate myself." Those were the words of Ray Boltz in an interview with the Washington Blade about his decision to engage in homosexuality. Boltz, a father of four who was married for 33 years before officially divorcing his wife this year, is well-known for his widely acclaimed songs "Thank You" and "I Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb."

The disclosure by Boltz was stunning news to former homosexual Greg Quinlan who is now with the New Jersey Family Policy Council.

"I’m absolutely shocked. I've got some of his CDs and cassette tapes –- tells you how long it's been around. When he says he's born that way, we know now for a fact that that's false. In fact, just last year in March, the director of the Human Genome Project, Dr. Francis Collins, said this: homosexuality is not hardwired. There is no gay gene. We mapped the human genome. We now know there is no genetic cause for homosexuality."

When asked about Boltz's homosexuality, The Gospel Music Association -- the group which gives out the Dove Awards -- told the Blade, "We do not comment on the lifestyle choices of people in our community."

According to Quinlan, by making such a statement the GMA seems to be "enabling a behavior that is totally inconsistent, incongruent with the message of the gospel."

Survived Hurricane!

My Grandpa and Aunt made it through Hurricane Ike. Sounds like they didn't get alot of damage -- not even any major flooding. So, that is an answer to prayer. The police did come Friday night and made my Grandpa leave his business (he lives at his rental store) and took him to a shelter. So, my mom was relieved when she got the call that he was in a safe place. But he is now back at his store and they have no power so he is now coping with that -- and if anyone has been to Houston they know it is VERY hot down there. So, I can't imagine what it must be like with no air conditioning. But thank you all for your prayers for them and I'm thankful they are doing good!

Busy times!

It's been almost 2 weeks since I posted something. I know I'm slacking -- it's just been sooooooooo busy. Jason's grandma was here to visit so we were over there alot. She left Sunday and then this week I have been getting ready for our garage sale we had today and tomorrow. It went pretty well even though it rained all day!! We still got quite a few people -- so I hope it stops raining for tomorrow and we can get more people and clear out this garage!!

Also, just so you all know -- Isaac loves looking at your blogs too and seeing his friends. He's sitting here right now -- but he's upset cuz he wants to see "more pictures"!!

One more thing - pray for my grandpa and aunt as they live in Houston and are preparing for Hurricane Ike to hit sometime overnight or early tomorrow morning. My mom is really worried about them. But they won't leave -- they been through to many evacuations that have not helped so they are just staying put. So, I hope everything goes okay for them!!
