Isaac's 2nd Birthday Party

We had Isaac's 2nd Birthday Party yesterday. It was a lot of fun and a house full of people. I made his birthday cake and Isaac LOVED it!! He wanted to eat the whole thing. He kept saying "McQueen cake, McQueen cake!!" I was glad that he liked it after all the time I spent on making it.

Mom of a TWO YEAR OLD!!! Aaaaaah!!!

So, Isaac turned 2 yesterday -- it is really crazy that my baby is two years old. I still feel like I just had him. Time goes by faster and faster every day. I know I'm starting to sound like an old person -- I guess I am though -- I'm 30!! Well, we kept telling Isaac yesterday "You're 2 today -- it's your birthday!". He didn't seem to quite understand -- I would ask him "how old are you?". He would reply "Isaac". I would tell him "two" then ask him again "how old are you?" -- "Isaac". So, we are going to have to work on him knowing his age -- he definitely has his name down!! We are having his party on Saturday so I will post pictures after the party.

Train Game

Jason, me, and our friends (Micah & Nicole, and Nathan & Arlene) get together quite frequently and play Ticket to Ride (a.k.a. Train Game). It is VERY addicting. So, we got together tonight and played 3 rounds of the game. We are really becoming obsessed! I think we might have to go to "Ticket to Ride Gamers Anonymous". We are even to the point of making up our own variations to the game. It is truly a problem! Anyways, if you want a fun game to play with family or friends -- go to www.daysofwonder.com and check out the game. There are several different Ticket to Ride games -- Jason and I actually own 3 of them and there's a new one coming out in September and I'm thinking of ordering that one too. I told you we have a problem. Beware if you get this game -- you might be joining the "Ticket to Ride Gamers Anonymous"!!

Spaghetti Sauce Recipe

I had someone that wanted the recipe of the spaghetti sauce we made the other day. So, here it is!!

20 cups tomatoes
3 1/2 cups onion
1 bell pepper
4 stalks celery
1 Tblsp. pepper
1/2 cup sugar
1 Tblsp. oregano
3 Tblsp. salt
1 Tblsp. garlic or powder
8 - 6 oz. cans tomato paste

You can use a blender to chop up the tomatoes, onion, bell pepper, and celery. Then simmer all ingredients for one hour. Makes approximately 8 quarts. We put it in freezer bags and then when we use it we add it to half a jar of store bought spaghetti sauce to just thicken it up a little.

Making "sgetti" sauce!

On Friday my mom, my friend Arlene, and I got together and made spaghetti sauce. I think we will be making more on Tuesday. My mom's garden is going crazy right now -- so have to use up the tomatoes while they're good! It was alot of fun getting together, and I love this spaghetti sauce -- so much better than the store bought stuff!!

My "Surprise" Party!

So, here's the end of the Surprise Party story....

The party was at a nice Italian Restaurant here and Jason had invited several of our friends to come. It was semi-formal so everyone was dressed nice. It was really a special night. The dinner was awesome and the service was great too. I really love going out, dressing up, and having a nice dinner. Jason knew exactly what I would enjoy. He also had a cake made and took it to the restaurant -- so that was a surprise to me. So, let me just say my husband definitely made this a VERY special birthday and also made turning 30 not so bad after all. So, even though I found out about it -- it was still a great night!!

Kids at Play!

We went to the Children's Museum today with a few of our friends. Isaac had a great time. This is a picture of all the kiddos. Kale & Avery (Albanie's two kids), Ally (Jill's daughter), and Tyler & Alaina (Erin's two kids). It was a good time, but WOW are we exhausted. Isaac really enjoyed the dinosaur exhibit. He even knew the name of the tricerotops (probably from being with his cousin Elijah). It was a fun time!!
