Fan From Day One!

We went to the first game for the Omaha Nighthawks football team last Friday. It was THE best game of any sport that I have ever been to. It was AWESOME! We have season tickets with two other couples from our church. I am looking forward to the next game this weekend!

Love at first sight???

My friend Jill and I have been friends for several years now. Her daughter Ally is 4 months older than Isaac. We have hung out alot since the two of them were born and they have become good friends too. Almost TOO good of friends. Can love start to blossom at the young age of only a few months old??

~~~~~ Jump ahead 4 years to the present ~~~~~
A conversation that took place tonight between the two of them (as best as I can remember it because Jill and I were laughing so hard through most of it).
Ally: "Isaac says that I'm his girlfriend."
Me (sarcastically): "Isaac, you guys are too young to be talking about girlfriends and boyfriends. Ally is your good friend that is a girl, but not your girlfriend."
Isaac: "But I like Ally."
Me: "That's good that you like her, but she's not your girlfriend."
Isaac: "Yes, she's my girlfriend, cuz I like her."
Ally: "When we grow up we are going to get married."
Isaac to Ally: "But there is another girl that wants to marry me. Her name is Jocelyn."
Ally: "Well when we grow up we are going to get married. And I am going to get a wedding dress. And if she gets a wedding dress and tells you that she is going to marry you, you need to say something to her because I am going to marry you."
Isaac: "I am going to get a black suit and marry you."
At this point, Jill turns to me and says "I think it's time for us to go because we are going to be deciding on cakes soon if we don't break up this conversation!"
Ally: "Isaac, after we get married we have to get a house. We will have to build a house. And then we will sleep together."
And now Jill says to me "OK! We definitely need to go now!"
Jason's Birthday
Jason's birthday was very fun with Isaac. I think he enjoyed more than Jason did. It was all he talked about all day. We went to the grocery store and he was SO worried that we would forget to buy daddy's birthday cake. Then he wanted to buy candles for the cake -- so we couldn't forget that. He must have told Jason "Happy Birthday, Daddy!" at least 50 times yesterday. I think Jason was starting to get tired of hearing it -- it was pretty funny. Then after we ate dinner, he wanted to eat "Happy Birthday Cake". But I told him we had to wait till after church -- everyone was coming over then. So, when we got home from church he kept saying "eat Happy Birthday cake". He was so funny yesterday. I do think Jason enjoyed his birthday. I made him what he wanted for dinner -- orange roughy, steamed carrots, and asparagus. It was a good dinner. And then I made him Jello Punch Cake. Since he is watching his diet, this cake he could eat -- not AS bad for you! After we had cake we played Mario Cart on the Wii -- it was funny watching everyone playing it. It was a fun night -- Happy Birthday, Honey!!
Little "jumping beans"!
Isaac and I went to this placed called BounceU today with our friends Jill and Ally. We had a good time -- it definitely wore the kiddos out but I got a pretty good exercise myself -- wooh, I need a nap too! It wasn't as big as I thought it would be but Ally and Isaac seemed to enjoy it and I guess that's all that matters. And because I have become a coupon nerd now (thanks to my friend Arlene) all 4 of us got in for $6.00! So, it was a cheap playdate! Thanks for going with us Jill and Ally -- it was a fun day. (By the way, Jill, Isaac cried ALL the way home from your house -- we will have to hang out again -- he really likes Ally!)
Salute to the Troops!
Happy Veteran's Day! I want to just say "Thank you" to all our men and women out there that are serving or have served in our nation's military. I also want to say thanks to the families that have to sacrifice their time away from their loved ones that are serving. I can never fully understand what military families go through -- I see some of it with my sister and her husband but it's still not the same as being in a military family. So, "Thank you!! We are indebted to you!
"And I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me.
And I'll gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today.
'cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God Bless the USA!"
Pumpkin Patch
We went to a local Pumpkin Patch last night with several of our friends. It was a really fun time. Isaac loved all of the animals -- chickens, sheep, cows, horses, pigs. We could have just gone to a farm with animals and saved ourselves some money. But it was a good time.
We took a hayrack ride out to the pumpkins. We bought a few small pumpkins to do some fall decorating with.
Isaac is in to shooting guns right now. So, everything becomes a gun -- sticks, straw, or whatever else he can find!
Train Game
Jason, me, and our friends (Micah & Nicole, and Nathan & Arlene) get together quite frequently and play Ticket to Ride (a.k.a. Train Game). It is VERY addicting. So, we got together tonight and played 3 rounds of the game. We are really becoming obsessed! I think we might have to go to "Ticket to Ride Gamers Anonymous". We are even to the point of making up our own variations to the game. It is truly a problem! Anyways, if you want a fun game to play with family or friends -- go to www.daysofwonder.com and check out the game. There are several different Ticket to Ride games -- Jason and I actually own 3 of them and there's a new one coming out in September and I'm thinking of ordering that one too. I told you we have a problem. Beware if you get this game -- you might be joining the "Ticket to Ride Gamers Anonymous"!!
Kids at Play!
We went to the Children's Museum today with a few of our friends. Isaac had a great time. This is a picture of all the kiddos. Kale & Avery (Albanie's two kids), Ally (Jill's daughter), and Tyler & Alaina (Erin's two kids). It was a good time, but WOW are we exhausted. Isaac really enjoyed the dinosaur exhibit. He even knew the name of the tricerotops (probably from being with his cousin Elijah). It was a fun time!!
